Domaine Armand David

Domaine Armand David is a fourth-generation family estate in Saumur, in the Loire Valley. The same family has worked these vineyards for decades, with each generation directly involved in the daily life of the domaine.
François and Sébastien David grew up on the property. From childhood, they spent time in the vineyards and cellars, accompanied their father to tastings, and took part in harvest alongside parents and grandparents. Wine shaped daily family life and work at the estate from their earliest years. For many years, four generations worked together at the domaine, a reality so rare that visitors regularly remarked on it!
Sébastien joined the domaine full time in 2012 and assumed a central role in its development. The family expanded the estate to nearly 50 hectares across Saumur and continued to focus on Chenin Blanc alongside Cabernet Franc and other Loire varieties. The vineyards extend across parcels with limestone and tuffeau soils, where the family has developed long familiarity through sustained vineyard work.
The estate farms sustainably and holds HVE certification. The David family approaches vineyard work through knowledge accumulated on site and reinforced through daily practice. Each generation learns the work early through shared responsibility and hands-on involvement. That experience passes directly from one generation to the next and continues to shape how the domaine operates today.
